J Da Buddah. A diverse DJ name, for a diverse DJ. J's love, passion and knowledge of the music industry at the tender age of 23 are what sets him apart from every other DJ on the club scene.
Getting into House & Garage music from as early as 6 years old, learning about various genres such as soul, rare groove, jazz, funk, acid house and loads more by growing up with a Dad as a DJ gave J the strong, deep roots he has in the beautiful world of music. Growing up, J was obsessed with radio shows and radio broadcasting, even recording himself introducing his own tape and CD collection on his Sony Talkboy from as young as 9 years old. Presenting the tracks as if he were live on radio in his bedroom. Early tell tale signs of a musical fanatic!
J continued his love for the underground House n Garage scene throughout adolescence and, like many teenagers at his school, tried his hand as an "MC", writing lyrics for UK Garage music and getting involved in a few local youth clubs and even a local pirate radio station. It was at these clubs J first tried his hand at DJing, just like his dad. Natural beatmatching ability wasn't something that just happened but eventually practice made perfect and, despite winning several competitions and gaining local popularity in his community as well as at school, the MC side of J's musical journey was over.
J got his first radio slot and first club gig at pretty much the same time in 2006 and has progressed constantly since, playing on countless radio stations across London and the UK as well as being a regular at clubs such as Pacha, SeOne, Hidden, Egg, Whitehouse, Turnmills and many more.
His musical style ranges from Deep & Soulful House, which he specializes in, to Underground UK and US Garage from the nineties. J can also be found regularly playing tracks almost as old as him too, with a varied and vast old skool music collection, plenty of which he takes with him to almost every club he plays at. Tracks such as "Masters at Work - Cant get no Sleep" and "Ten City - Thats the Way Love is" are regulars in J's sets whilst his old skool loops and samples he uses whilst mixing on 3 decks, really brings the rave vibe to his sets.
You can also occasionally catch J spinning uplifting house music, Nu Skool Garage and Dubstep as well as Tech House, UK Funky and Afrocentric sounds, making him a bit of an all round musical mougul. Not mention his Rare Groove sets and 90s Hip Hop shows!
You can catch J Da Buddah and Mister-E presenting their Education Radio Show every Sunday 2-4pm on Imageradio.com Playing the finest in all things house and garage, old and new!
